Becky:
So what does that have to do with anything?

Thelma:
Don’t you think that would be too fast? (In a slow tone)

Becky:
Too fast?! Can you even hear yourself, don’t you also think collecting money from him was too fast? You just have at least waited for Maybe a month or rather still a year........

(Both In silence for a while then) Silly girl!

Thelma:
That was very mean.. You know am still a virgin and am no..

Becky:
(Cutting her short) Yeah, yeah you’re a virgin the world knows already but c’mon girl you’re not going to remain one forever.......... There’s no Prince Charming out there, listen girl life’s give and take. If you want to enjoy anything good you have to use what you have to get what you want........ (stops Thelma from altering a word).... Look at me I can’t even remember the name of the guy who defoliated me but, does that mean am not happy? Look at my mum she doesn’t even know who my real father is but am still living (smiles) I don’t even need him. And you mum she never speaks of your father but you’re still living.... look dear it doesn’t matter if it’s Chief or any other guy out there facts still remains that you’re gonna loose that flower.

Thelma:
(With tears rolling down her cheeks) You’re right, I mean whether I loose it now or later it still won’t matter no one’s gonna care.

Becky:
(smiling mischievously) Now you’re talking, open you’re eyes chief cares about you.

Thelma:
Thank you Becky I don’t think I’ll find another friend like you

(Both hugs)

Becky:
Biko my own share of the money kwa? (Sounding jokingly)

Thelma:
Oh that’s right (picks the money and splits into two) here you go

Becky:
Thank you ma’am and nice doing business with you

(Both laughs)

Thelma:
(Standing up) I’ve got to go now.. I don’t want my mom’s trouble (heading to the door)

Becky:
(Sounding irritated) Ohhh that woman! Say hi to her for me

Thelma:
(Opening the door and going out) Becky! That’s my mother you’re referring to as that woman ( goes out and closes the door)

Becky:
tchewww if only you know how much I despise her, same goes to you. You think I’m going to let you live a better life, that life I couldn’t have? NEVER! (soliloquy’s)











ACT FIVE

(Thelma opens the door and walks in, shocked to see Mrs Williams as she closes the door)

Thelma:
Good afternoon mom (smiling and turning to Becky’s mom) Mrs Williams you’re here? I just came from you’re house

Mrs Williams:
Yes dear I’m here, Why didn’t Becky come with you?

Thelma:
Menstrual pain (sounding positive)

Mrs Williams:
(Sounding disbelieve) Ohh she’s not pregnant this month, good for her

Mrs Arinze:
(Sounding irritated) Joyce!! How can you say such a thing? (Turning to Thelma) Do you have any idea what she means?
