Genre: Drama

Chief Milford: I promise it won’t hurt just trust me

Please sir am not ready for this yet.. If my mom should find out she’ll kill me, please I beg you

Chief Milford: Don’t you know it’s an abomination for a woman to see the nakedness of a man with whom she has not done anything with?

But sir I promise it was an honest mistake (verge of crying)

Chief Milford: Honest mistake or whatever you call it I don’t care! A little girl like you cannot see my nakedness and not taste it (trying to grab Thelma close when the door opens)

Miss Grace:
Chief! (She shouts as she walks in leaving the door open)

(Thelma let go of chief’s grip and runs out of the room, leaving him and miss Grace alone)

Chief Milford: Don’t you knock before entering someone’s home? (In an angry tone)

Miss Grace:
Chief what were you trying to do to that little girl? (Looking surprised)

Chief Milford: That doesn’t answer my question woman! (trying to buckle his pants with a shaky hand)

Miss Grace:
Don’t tell me you were trying to take advantage of that girl... Chief!

Chief Milford: Shut up! What do you want here? (He asks in a warm tone as he takes a sit)

Miss Grace:
I came so you could sign the documents for the sale of the duplex I’ve been trying to reach you on phone but you weren’t taking my calls

Chief Milford: So that could’nt wait till tomorrow?

Miss Grace:
The buyer is traveling tomorrow so the paperwork has to be signed today

Chief Milford: I don’t see any paperwork with you

Miss Grace:
That’s because I left it downstairs and came upstairs to see what’s happening since I was hearing voices

Chief Milford: That was the reason why you invaded my privacy? (Wondering)

Miss Grace:
I’m sorry Chief.... I’ll get the papers now (leaving the room).

(Thelma still wasn’t home and her mom was worried.)

Mrs Arinze:
(To herself ) This is weird it’s past 8pm and Thelma still isn’t back, where could she be? And Becky’s number too isn’t connecting maybe I should go over to Becky’s house she could be there (picks up her keys and hurried to the door, as she opens it was Thelma in front of her. Thelma walks in as Mrs Arinze steps aside)

Good-evening mom(in a slow tone)

Mrs Arinze:
I have been trying your number it wasn’t connecting same with Becky’s, I even called her moms she said she wasn’t home, Where were you Thelma? (Talking to a shaky Thelma)

(In relief) I was at Becky’s and my battery died same with Becky’s that’s why I couldn’t call to tell you I would be late

Mrs Arinze:
What made you stayed this late if I may ask?

Mrs Arinze:
Go up and change (She walks towards a sit)

Yes ma (walking away)

Mrs Arinze:
Thelma (Thelma stops and turn) Are you sure there’s something you’re not telling me?

(turns in surprise) No ma, nothing

Mrs Arinze:
Are you sure?

Yes ma (And she walks out)

(Miss Grace sat in her office wondering who that little girl is and why she was in Chief Milford’s bedroom with him alone..... Who is she, How is she connected with him? She kept asking herself when she realized someone standing in front of her table. She raised her head and it was the same girl)

Good-day ma’am please am here to see Chief

(Thelma not remembering her)

Miss Grace:
And you are? (Now paying close attention to her and seeing she was not as little as she taught)

Thelma, my name is Thelma

Miss Grace:
well Thelma I’ll go in and inform chief you’re here please don’t scoop around ( she stood up and heads to chief office)
