Crowhurst thinks that if he was to break the record,

He would not be the Hero, after a few days he would be left alone.

He therefore let Tetley go in front of him.

Everything worked out well.

But a few miles before the finish line,

suddenly, Tetley sank.

Crowhurst was the only one racing.

Panicked, he started drifting away again.

Poor guy.
