The Lonesome Mouse

Synopsis: Jerry crashes a vase onto Tom's head, which gets Mammy to throw Tom out. Jerry revels in his freedom, among other things turning Tom's picture into a Hitler caricature then spitting on it. But he soon tires of this, and under a flag of truce, hatches a plan with Tom. The abnormally talkative duo stage a grand chase, but whenever they're out of sight of Mammy, they fake it, pausing for patty-cake, a turkey leg, and a drum jam session. Eventually, Tom chases Jerry under a rug, then swaps in a tomato, which Mammy crushes. With Jerry apparently vanquished, Tom is rewarded with a pie, but when Jerry tries to claim his share, Tom shuts him out.

[SNORING]

WOMAN:
Thomas! You no-good cat!

That's sabotage!

Out you go!

[HOLLERING]

VOICE:
You never thought you'd miss

that cat, did you?

Feeling kind of lonesome?

Look at him.

You can't live with him,

but there's no fun without him.

You know you could get that guy

back in here, though...

...if you really wanted to, couldn't you?

[WHISTLING]

Hey. You wanna get back in the house,

don't you?

- Yeah.

- Okay, then.

I'll go...

- Uh-huh.

- And you come around...

- Oh.

- Then we'll both...

That's a lulu!

[SINGING "HOW ABOUT YOU?"]

WOMAN:

Ow!

Timber!

[CRASHING]

WOMAN:

Thomas! Get in here and save me!

[WHISTLES]

Ouch! Ouch!

Ouch!

[WOMAN YELPING]

WOMAN:

Ah! Oh! Ow!

Ouch! Ah!

Hey. We're still kidding, ain't we?

- Sure.

- Okay, then.

WOMAN:

Chase him in here, Thomas!

Hold him down, Thomas!

Don't let him get away!

Did I get him?

Oh!

Oh! Oh!

[SNIFFLING]

[WOMAN CHUCKLING]

WOMAN:

Yes, Thomas, you are a hero.

Here's a reward for getting rid of

that mouse.

Boy, you sure are a mouse catcher.

Why, that dirty, double-crossing,

good-for-nothing, two-timing...
