Speed 2: Cruise Control Page #5

Synopsis: Annie Porter, the woman who was held on a bus with a bomb attached to it that will go off if it slows down. She dated the cop who saved her but broke up with him because he was constantly putting his life in danger. She would then date a guy named Alex who is also a cop but told her that he does a mundane assignment. But she eventually learns that he works for the same unit that the other guy worked for and is also addicted to danger. She wants to break up with but he surprises her with a cruise. She agrees to go. And he's planning to propose to her. But when he notices another passenger act peculiar, he can't help but try to find out what's up with him. He's Geiger, a computer man who designed the ship's systems, who was fired. He then takes over the ship's systems and sets it on a course that will send it into a tanker. Alex tries to stop him.

- One more thing.

- What?

I'd like to boogie with you.

We're still four degrees off course.

Did you check the mainframe, Eric?

Captain Pollard, good evening.

How can you be running the ship...

...if you're not on the bridge?

Who is running the ship?

Oh, yeah. I am.

What is this? Who are you?

I spent a great many years

developing computer systems...

...for these cruise liners,

including this baby.

And then I got pushed away!

What are you talking about?

That's what really infuriates me.

You don't even know

what I'm talking about.

How dare you!

Traditionally speaking...

...isn't it true

the captain goes down with the ship?

Aagh!

(women laughing)

- I got one more. Stand right here.

- Oh, OK.

- This is good.

- OK.

Captain, sweetheart, would you mind

taking a picture with my sister and me?

No. Not at all.

Get in the middle.

Right here. OK.

Say Dallas.

Dallas.

- Ooh!

- Ooh!

Nice tropical shower.

Water's gonna be beautiful tonight, ladies.

Good evening.

No, I'm sorry.

Without ajacket...

...that dress is not appropriate.

(woman) Daddy's right.

I like this dress, and it's fine.

No, no, no.

You look like a clown.

No, I don't.

Well, she's fine.

Let her go.

She'll be back.

Ready...

...now.

(beeping)

(rumbling)

(alarm buzzing)

What the hell is going on?

I don't know, sir.

Where's the chief engineer?

# Let me take you, yeah

# To that place you never been before

# Open up the door to a dream...

This almost seems too perfect, doesn't it?

Want me to step on your feet?

You already did.

Oh. I meant again.

(giggles)

(rumbling and hissing)

Hurry.

- # Oh, whoa

- # Make it

# So beautiful

# Hold me close

# And don't let go...

You know, I left you alone this morning

because I needed to be alone to think.

Yeah.

See, the one thing that's got me

through everything in my life...

...the one thing I could always trust...

...has been my instinct.

It has never been more certain

than it is now.

Really?

Yeah.

What are you saying?

What I'm saying is, uh...

...I think that we should...

(explosion)

(screaming)

Oh, man, no. No, no, no, no.

Come on, keep dancing.

Keep dancing. Come on.

Hold up. Hold on.

Jesus Christ! The main pumps are off!

She ain't pumping out!

Shut down engines three and four!

Get out of here!

Sir!

Look, they're not gonna hold.

Sir.

- Find the captain, will you?

- Yes, sir.

Harvey, it's an earthquake!

It can't be! We're at sea!

Aagh!

Ooh! Oh!

Look out!

Watch it!

No!

This is my vacation! Damn it!

I had nothing to do with this.

It's not working!

(screaming)

(rumbling stops)

(man) It's all right, it's all right.

It's over. It's over.

Ladies and gentleman...
