(After the title card, we return to Sweet Mountain, where Orbot, Cubot and Metal Sonic activate a large Wisp-draining capsule. The capsule boots up with a series of beeps. Orbot is seen holding a hard drive.)

Orbot:

There we go. The capsules have been installed all around Sweet Mountain, providing energy to Dr. Eggman's facilities. Here you go, big bro.

(Metal prepares to grab the hard drive, but Sonic rushes in at the last second, holding Orbot back by his head while throwing the drive to Tails.)

Sonic:

You know, I'd ask you to make this easier for us, but I don't even think that's possible. Tails?

Tails:

(catches the drive)

Got it!

(Metal immediately attacks as it and Sonic clash!)

Sonic:

(grunts)

How's it going, Metal? You're looking hideous as usual.

Tails:

Oh, no. This is awful...

Sonic:

I know, pal. It's like looking into the world's ugliest mirror!

Tails:

No. The Wisp capsules are already draining their energy. If we don't hurry, it'll be too late to save them!

Sonic:

Well, fellas. I'd love to stick around and catch up, but I really don't like any of you.

(Sonic throw Metal at the capsule, destroying it and freeing the Wisps.)

Sonic:

Buh-bye!

(As Sonic and Tails race away, Cubot droops his head sadly, taking Sonic's last roast personally.)

Orbot:

Oh, I'm sure he didn't mean it. We're all very likeable. Right, big bro?

(Metal, clearly not listening, powers his thruster and heads after Sonic and Tails.)

Orbot:

Uh, okay! We'll catch up!

Tails:

First capsule coming up! Hang a left here, Sonic!

Sonic:
Roger that!

(Sonic speeds off, drifts through a turn, and plows through the capsule with a Spin Attack. The freed Wisps huddle him in a happy hug.)

Sonic:

(flustered)

Ha-ha, alright, alright. You're welcome. Your smiling...faces(?)...are all the thanks I need!

Tails:

Incoming, Sonic! We gotta keep moving!

(Metal closes in to attack, but Sonic and the Cyan Laser Rebel Wisp jump together, dodging his slash.)

Sonic:

Sorry, gruesome! You want to stop me, you got to catch me first!

Game Announcer:

LASER!

(Sonic, using the Cyan Laser Color Power, ricochets away. Orbot and Cubot manage to catch up.)

Orbot:

(panting)

Didn't you know, big bro? The Wisps...can share their power, with someone they trust.

(Metal grabs a nearby Cyan Wisp, but it crosses its arms, refusing to cooperate.)

Orbot:

I..don't think it wants to share its power with you. We know a way around that.

(Orbot and Cubot wear heat masks, while Cubot brandishes a blowtorch, turning the Wisp's defiant face into one of worry. Meanwhile, Sonic, using the Cyan Laser, ricochets off the walls and destroys another capsule, freeing more Wisps, including the Yellow Drill Rebel Wisp, who Jade happily greets. As Sonic stretches, Metal knocks him into a wall, revealing his altered state. A capsule was attached to his thruster, allowing him to siphon Wisps directly for more power.)

Sonic:

Hm. That's a new trick. And a new low.

Tails:

We don't have for this, Sonic! The other Wisps will be drained in only a few minutes.

Sonic:

It's okay, Tails. he's not looking for a fight. Are you?

(Sonic and Metal lock eyes.)

Sonic:

You're looking for a race? Alright, let's race!

(Sonic uses the Yellow Drill Color Power, burrowing in and out of the ground as Metal gives chase.)

Game Announcer:

DRILL!

(The Yellow Drill burrows like a dolphin, destroying another capsule. For the next ones, Sonic uses the Pink Spikes and Orange Rocket, as Metal keeps siphoning Wisps to catch up to them.)

Game Announcer:

SPIKES! ROCKET!

(Sonic and Tails, having rescued most of the Rebels, close in on the last capsule. However, Metal absorbs anothet Wisp, overflowing him with Hyper-go-on energy as he catches up to Sonic. Sonic, noticing him as they race neck-and-neck, tries to stay ahead, but Metal reaches the capsule and attempts to stop him. Jade exclaims in worry as she flies to Sonic's aid, sharing her power with him.)

Game Announcer:

GHOST!

(Sonic, using the Jade Ghost power, phases through Metal Sonic and destroys the last capsule! As Jade exits his body, Metal is still exhibiting the Wisps' energy. Sonic picks up a drained Wisp.)

Tails:

We were too late....

(Sonic looks on as Metal prepares to finish the job, but Jade uses her transparency power to drop the capsule out of the robot's body, restoring the Wisps to their original state.)

Orbot:

Don't worry, big bro! We can still defeat him---together!

(Orbot and Cubot power up for their "secret weapon.")

Orbot:

FORM...CHANGE!

(However, their "secret weapon" only involves them wrapping around Metal's arms like gift bags while giggling gleefully. Sonic looks at their shameful state before he and the Rebel Wisps team up!)

Sonic:

Let's do this!

Game Announcer:

DRILL!

(Sonic digs under sends the robots in the air with the Drill!)

Game Announcer:

SPIKES!

(The Spikes mix up Orbot and Cubot's bodies.)

Game Announcer:

HOVER! ROCKET! CUBE!

(The Green Hover lifts Metal up, the Orange Rocket hits him on the side, and the Cube crushes all three!)

Game Announcer:

(powering down)

GAME OVER...

Tails:

We did it! Jade, you were so brave!

(Jade happily blushes.)

Tails:

And, Sonic, good work, as usual.

Sonic:

(gives a thumbs-up)

Piece of cake, buddy!
