In between

*Day 2 is displayed on top of the screen*

“BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!”, Ahmed, a lonesome kid, wakes up to the sound of his alarm clock blasting. He turns it off and gets up to make his bed. *Background music starts playing* “Man I miss when ma was the one waking me up instead.” he thought to himself. After making his bead, washing his face, and brushing his teeth, he picks up his journal and starts to write in it.

“Entry number 43, date: 6th of July, 2021” he whispers.

He heads to the terrace where his grandpa is usually sitting, drinking his infamous cup of Turkish coffee, and would usually be on his 4th or 5th cigarette of the day - at only around 8 am.

“Good morning grandpa,” Ahmed says as he graciously hugs him. Ahmed and was very close with his grandpa. Not only was his grandfather his best, and only, friend, but he was also his primary caretaker for a good chunk of the year as his parents would travel around the world during the summer vacation.

“I’m going outside to get the newspaper, want me to get you anything from the market? I’m feeling extra active today.” he chuckles

“Get us some milk boy. We’re out of milk”

Ahmed picks up the car keys, goes outside, fetches the newspaper and heads to the supermarket to get the milk. The scene starts back up with Ahmed opening the door and entering his house and yelling “I got the milk” his grandfather replies by saying “Ok now make me a cup of tea, will ya”. Ahmed then proceeds to make them both tea. He boils the water puts the tea bag, sugar, but, wanting to seem like a big boy now, makes his without milk. He takes the tea and heads to the living area and calls for his grandpa.

“Grandpa! Grandpaa!” he shouts. He heads to the living area to continue their usual daily routine where they would sit, joke, and play four hours at a time to start off the day.

*Camera goes out of focus as they're laughing and goes to clock where the arrows are turning rapidly showing the passing of time*

*The scene then cuts and the day is over. Beginning of day 2. Day 2 is displayed on the top of the screen*
