Synopsis: Alisha was working hard to attain a better future for herself and to make her mum and dad proud, but she still had to deal with all the pressure from her mother to get married as she was 30 and single which made her worried. So after years of several encounters with playboys, Alisha finally found love but it came along with a lot of drama on the plate.

SCENE 1

A conversation between Alisha and her friend Nora over the phone early in the morning

Alisha:
Hello Nora

Nora:
Hello Alisha, you won’t believe what I’m about to tell you, he just proposed, Oh my God I’m so excited

Alisha:
What! (Out of surprise) you mean Ike?

Nora:
So I will be coming home to start the preparations and I will be taking you as my event planner, hope you can handle that?

Alisha:
Oh yea sure

Narrator:
After the conversation Alisha rushed out of bed and prepared for work, and all day at work Alisha was looking so worried why she is still single when most of her friends are getting married.

SCENE 2

Narrator:
She got back from work and was having a conversation with the mum and dad in their living room.

Alisha:
Mum do you remember my friend Nora? She will be getting married soon and guess what, I was chosen as their planner, I’m so happy for her

Alisha’s Mum:
Oh nice but don’t you think is time for us to also plan the planner’s wedding too (smiling) eerrhh sincerely speaking is about time you bring that young man home before anything happens, you young people of these days fancy this baby mama and baby daddy thing.

Alisha’s Dad:
Opps darling (referring to the wife) don’t you think that was a harsh reply to our girl, for all you know she is planning to surprise us with her hubby

Alisha:
Dad is fine (getting up from the furniture) I will just be in my room in case you need me

Alisha’s Mum:
Come on baby girl, I’m sorry you know we are always looking out for you. Are you angry?

Alisha:
No mum, I’m okay.

Alisha’s Dad:
Honey you shouldn’t have said that to her

Alisha’s Mum:
I am just worried she might not get someone to settle with early. She is a woman and you know women age faster than men.

Alisha’s Dad:
But we know some women who married at later age and they doing well in their homes. Should I mention some few names? Let me tell you something is not about how long you have being in it but how long you have being able to keep it. Let’s slow down with her, okay

Inside Alisha’s room

Alisha:
(pick your phone, try calling some few friends but none will be able to answer their calls. Create an account on afrointroductions.com a dating site where you will had a hook up after some few minutes and they started chatting all night and they even had to fix a date to have date)

Narrator:
Alisha went for her first date but it was unfortunate to find out that the person she was chatting using the dating site was too old for her, and she clearly unhappy and had to leave that premises after exchanging of pleasantries and a short introduction (Inaudible Speech).

Scene 3

At Wendy’s place (A friend of Alisha)

Narrator:
Alisha went to Wendy’s place from her date.

Alisha:
(Knock on the door)

Wendy:
(Open the door) oh it you Alisha, what’s up? You never told me you were coming, hope all is well? Come in

Alisha:
(looking so stressed out)

Wendy:
why is your face like this?

Alisha:
I was supposed to be at a date with someone right now, all thanks to you because I wanted to gist you before I take any decision but when I called you, you didn’t pick up so I jumped on the internet where we hooked up but it didn’t work

Wendy:
Oh girl but you could have relaxed a little. Where are you rushing to?

Alisha:
The kind of pressure my mother is putting on me these days is too, so I needed to do something but Wendy, tell me is something wrong with me? Why can’t I have my own man? (Tears dropping already)

Wendy:
Listen you need to take it slow, stop being so hard on yourself , you will get a man at the right time, because you are beautiful, humble and hardworking, so relax or is it because Nora is coming to get married? Come on girl it her time and is not a race. Should I take you somewhere?

Alisha:
Somewhere like where?

Wendy:
We are going to have fun

Alisha:
okay dear let’s do that because I just want to clear my head

Alisha and Wendy drove to some spot around her hood to have some fun and as the step in

Wendy:
so tell me, have you ever being here before?

Alisha:
No, it is a very nice place but you know I don’t really go out so how will I know this place?

Wendy:
I know right, Have fun and forget about the bad date. And don’t forget to be looking around in case you find your taste, just go for him. Ha-ha

Alisha:
You think that will help? And don’t you think I’m being too desperate?

Wendy:
I will also suggest that you spread you wings by going for more dates okay .Going on dates does mean it’s a must to sleep or date that person .. No

Alisha:
Okay but for now let’s have fun (dance and look around)

Scene 4

Narrator:
Alisha still trying her dates out

Second date

Young man one:
Hey beautiful

Alisha:
(roll eyes) hello handsome

Young man:
I’m Jaden

Alisha:
I’m Alisha

Jaden:
(calls waitress)

Jaden and Alisha were drinking and talking (inaudible speech)

Jaden:
(Tries to hold Alisha’s hand and kiss and touch her thigh)

Alisha:
(shift away from Jaden and stare at him for a while) what do you take me for? (Get up and leave)

SCENE 5

Narrator:
When Alisha got home she called Wendy on the phone

Alisha:
hey babe

Wendy:
Yes dear how did your date go?

Alisha:
Bad. Can you imagine? This guy was trying to get down on me at the date night

Wendy:
What does he take you for? And what did you do?

Alisha:
You know now, I so walked out on him

Wendy:
That’s my girl

Both laughing over the phone

SCENE 6

Narrator:
Alisha had another date, so from work she didn’t go home; she just went to her date

Man:
(looks at Alisha lustfully as she walks towards him) you look sexy

Alisha:
Am I supposed to say thank you? And can I please sit?

Man:
Oh yea by the way I hope you know my name already but let me introduce myself again, I’m Williams

Alisha:
Alisha is my name

Williams:
Let me pour you some wine (Whiles pouring the wine, start talking about the past relationship and how bad it went)

Alisha:
It your past and I’m not interested in knowing what happened or whatever

Williams:
Still talking

Alisha:
You know what? I think this date is over, thanks for the drink bye (leave)
