INT. BADER'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY

The living room is filled with people dressed in black, who are mourning Annie's father. Annie is sitting on the couch, looking dazed and subdued. Slim Z and Shaikha and bader are looking sad

ANNIE:
(speaking softly) It's a good thing my mother is here, Bader. She's helping me with the funeral arrangements.

BADER:
(not really paying attention) Yeah, I guess.

ANNIE'S MOTHER: (entering the room) Annie, Can’t you make a decent glass of iced tea?

ANNIE:
(muttering) Sorry, Mom.

BADER:
(upset) Can’t you leave her alone? It’s ice tea if you thirsty well then you drink it if you’re not don’t.

ANNIE'S MOTHER: (angrily to Annie) are you just gonna let that boy talk to me like that? (to bader) Boy don’t you know I’m gonna knock you into another family.

BADER:
(defiantly) I know enough to stand up for Annie. You're being mean to her.

ANNIE'S MOTHER: (surprised) Well, young man, you have some nerve. But, I have to admit, I respect you for defending my daughter.

Suddenly, the doorbell rings, and Bader jumps up to answer it.

BADER:
Oh, it's Caleb and Everleigh!

CALEB JOHNSTON:
(consoling Bader) I'm so sorry about Annie's dad, Bader. Here, Doc has a new video game for you at the store.

EVERLEIGH LABRANT: (sympathetically) And if you need anything, Bader, just let us know.

Suddenly, the atmosphere shifts as Jerome enters the room.

JEROME:
(feeling guilty) Here, Bader. I robbed Annie's late father of this money. Please forgive me.

BADER:
(shocked) What? Why did you do that, Jerome?

JEROME:
(apologetically) I needed the money for my sick mother. But I regretted it immediately.

EMILY DOBSON:
(arriving and showing sympathy) I'm so sorry for your loss, Annie. And you too, Bader.

Emily hugs slim z

SLIM Z:
(flirting) Thanks, Emily.

BADER:
(feeling irritated) She's not interested in you, Slim Z.

SLIM Z:
Shut up dude

A few hours later

ANNIE:
(snapping out of her daze) That's it! I've had enough of this. Mom, you can't just eat my chocolate turtles and insult my friends. I want you to leave this instant.

ANNIE'S MOTHER: (backing away) Fine, but you'll regret this, Annie.

BADER:
(tugging on Annie's sleeve) I'm sorry for yelling at your mom, Annie.

ANNIE:
(smiling kindly) It's okay, Bader. Thanks for sticking up for me.

The episode ends on a positive note as Bader and his friends come together to support Annie in her time of need.
