The Very Original Idea For James Leroy Anderson Goes To House School & More & James Leroy Anderson The Movie The Fragment That Kicked It All Off I Came Up With A Number Of Years Ago When I Was Be An Athlete & Jock From Saturday High School I Was Editing Film For The High School But I Was Doing This Out In The Middle Of Nowhere In South Carolina Where They Have A Base Where They Test Things [Clears Throat] And On The Weekends I Would Go Off And Wander Around Out On The Ranges When They Weren’t Shooting At Them. And I Was In Apartment Building One Day And I Was Choose LJN Game Is A Nightmare On Elm Street I Put TopLoad Classes Great Box And NinToaster And I Was Sitting Down On A Couch And I Made A Note On A Scrap Of Paper What If There Was T.V. Screen All Over Place It Suck Me On T.V Screen It The Characters Is The Dream Warriors The Dream Master Kid Icarus Simon Belment Megan Man And Princess Lana & I Can’t Find Around Back Home And That Note Just Sat In A File Folder Then For A Number of Years Later Judd Ally And I Sold St. Elmo Fire And His Friend Anthony Michael Hall & Molly Ringwald Sold Sixteen Candles Our Agent Nancy Roberts Sat Us Down And Said Okay Now Get All Those Old Ideas Out Of Your File Folders And We Got A Number Of Them Out And She Picked About Three Of Them To Really Pursue And Develop And One Of Them Was What We Then Stared Calling Cyber Chase After That Time Actually Saturday Night Live Started Doing A Character Game Genie So We Dispensed With That Working Title. And Then It Just Went Through Many Permutations After That

Steve Oedekerk Chosen One Director Producer Writer And We Took That Lead Around To Various Studios And Pitch It. And People Would Stare At Us Blankly And Kind Of Like What Kind Of Movie & T.V. Series Would This Be With 4 Villains That We Called Chucky His Real Name Charles Lee Ray From Child’s Play & Chucky Saga Freddy Krueger From A Nightmare On Elm Street Series Phantom Virus From Scooby-Doo And The Cyber Chase And Stripe The Leader Gremlins From Gremlins And Underground Monster We Called Graboids From Tremors They Didn’t Quite Get It’s Because It’s A Tonal Balancing Act Too It Was A Hard Movie & T.V. Series To Describe In A Short Paragraph Or Two So The Um Nancy Encouraged Emilio Judd & Ally To Write The Screenplay So That We Would Have Something On Paper To Actually Show People That We Did Have An Idea About What This Movie & T.V Series Would Be Like And Nancy Took It To Gale Anne Hurd George Lucus And Steven Spielberg Who Executive Produced The Movie And T.V Series And They Responded To The Material Immediately And She Came Out Of Low Budget Filmmaking As We All Did So She Really Understood That We Knew How To This Kind Of Movie & T.V Series And The Idea For The Movie & T.V Series Came From A Very Low Budget Idea To Take A 3 Villains And Monster That Invisible Most Of The Movie & T.V Series Because It’s On T.V Screen And Death Star And Underground And So We With Gale George And Steven We Went To Warner Bros Pictures And Overnight Literally They Said Yes

Judd Nelson John Bender Since This Was Our First Feature We Really Emilio Ally Anthony Molly And I As Characters We Were Involved With Everything With Casting With Finding The Locations With The Costumes With Really Every Aspect Of The Film And Show

Ally Sheedy Alison Reyonds We Bugged Everybody About Everything

Emilio Estevez Andrew Andy Clark Yeah It Was Fun I Mean Steve Was Great Too Steve Was Really Gracious In Having Us Be Involved In A Way That Lot Of Directors Would Not Allow You Know Producers To Be So It Was Fun It Was A Real Collaboration It Worked Well And I Think One Of The Things We Had To Learn In The Process Of Making The Film & Show Was There Was Only So Far We Could Go I Think At Some Point You Got To Step Back And Let Steve Direct The Movie & TV Series

2 Building House School Restaurants Park & Rest Of The Town

Steve Oedekerk Chosen One Director Producer Writer One Of The First People That Gale Anne Hurd Introduce Me To In This Film & Show Was Our Production Designer The Person We Had As Our Production Designer Ivo Cristante And He Became Such A Phenomenal Asset For The Making Of The Movie & Series He Brought So Much In Terms Of His Designs And He Also A Wonderful Has Great Mechanical Effcts Knowledge Also So He Was Very Instrumental In The Creation Of The Buildings And The Sets To Work In A Effects Way Which Was Great Ivo We Started Searching For A Location For The Movie & T.V Series And We Went Throughout The North And South United States And It Was Very Difficult Finding The Right Location For This Movie & Series Because We Needed A Columbia & Hopkins A Present Day That Was Surrounded By Tree A Railroad Track That Lake Down To A Lower Plane At One End Of The Columbia & Hopkins And That Was A Hard Group Of Variables To Find In A Movie And Show Friendly Place Somewhere That Would Be Close Enough To Hotels And All The Things You Need To Make A Movie & Series And Also We Needed Game Design And Bender Lake With Boat And Rock Formations Interesting Boat And Rock Formations That Would Provide Safety For Our Characters

Anthony Michael Hall Brian Ralph Johnson We Found A Location North & South Carolina About 30 Miles North & South Carolina And It Turned Out Great Ivo Cristante Our Production Designer Went In There With Typical Enthusiasm And Built This Whole Town And Made It Look Old & New You Know We Even Paved It Little Section Of This Tiny Road To Little Dirt Road That Was There
