Synopsis: In the year 3028 A.D., Earth is being attacked by the Drej, which are aliens made of pure energy! The Drej mother-ship destroys Earth with an energy beam just as hundreds of space vehicles manage to escape with the last of mankind aboard! One of the escapees is Sam's young son Cale, who carries with him a ring given to him by his father. Fifteen years later, Cale works on a salvage station, eking out a rough life and hating his father for having disappeared aboard the Titan so long ago. Without a home planet, surviving humans have been reduced to outer space drifters and are constantly bullied and looked down on by other space-faring races. A human captain named Joseph Korso and his pilot Akima seek out Cale and explain that he must help them find the Titan which contains a mechanism that will create a new Earth and therefore unite all of humanity. to the limitless power|of the human imagination.

Perhaps that is what|the Drej feared most,

for it brought them down|upon us without warning...

and without mercy.

Cale, that day, the day|the Drej descended from the sky,

the only thing that mattered| was keeping you safe.

Perfect!

I have to go|on a different ship.

- I have to go away for a while.

No, Dad! No!

- Tek is going to look after you.|- But I wanna go with you!

- Sir-|- I know.|It's not safe where I'm going.

-Sir! Professor!|- I'm coming!

Cale, here. Take this.|As long as you wear it, there's hope.

- I will see you again. I promise.|- Okay.

- Cale, it's time. Cale-|- No, it's not okay! It's not okay!

- Tek, keep him safe!|- Daddy!

- Korso, go!|- Come back!

-Evacuate! Evacuate!|- Godspeed, Sam Tucker!

Attention, pilots. Drej stingers are-

This is Tucker.|Bring me down.

Drej stingers are attacking|the escape vehicles.

Okay. Are we all here?|Bobby, buckle up.

- Now, Sam. Now!|- Go, Dad! Go!

- Get out of there. Get out of there!|- Come on.

Lose my head to the chemical freeway

Comin' up on overload|Losing sure is easy, so lam no more

But I'm not broken

In my dream, I win

Out here, I'm nothing

- Do you hear a crackling sound?|- And what was up with Chowquin?

- You should've seen him.|- Ha-ha, not much chance of that.

- He was so out of control,|treatin' me like I'm some-|- Human?

Don't start with|that solidarity thing again.

- If you would study|human history as instructed,

you might realize you're not|alone out there, and you'd be|better prepared for the future.

- I'll tell you somethin'|about your famous future.|- Mmm.

Every day I wake up, it's still the|present, the same grimy, boring present.

I don't think|this future thing exists.

- Do you hear a crackling sound?

- Here we go.

- We gotta get outta this dump.|- Hold on, everybody! I got it!

Please don't panic.|Just think of it as floating time.|Two seconds. Everybody calm.

Ah. Just needed some love.

Let's get back to eatin' baby.

Okay. Well, I'm full.

Ohh.

- Hey, Cale.

- Firrikash.

Po, how's it floatin'?

- You pulled a nasty stunt back there.|- We don't like your attitude.

- You've been a little uppity.

Up-Up- Is that so? Well.|I'm gonna have to work on that.

- You wanna hunt humans, remember:|We travel in packs.

- What are you doing?|- It's commonly known as helping.

Yeah? Well, what for?

Sometimes, kid, people|just help each other out.

- Oh, right.

So you're gonna tell me|you don't want something in return?

- All right. Maybe I do.|- What a shock.

I want you to risk your life.|I want you to give up everything|you have to join the mission,

where you'll face terror and torture|and possibly gruesome death.
