The Paris adventure script

Scene 1

Video starts in an average classroom. Kids are doing a maths test.

Teacher:
I’ll just pause the time for a minute. We have some kids who are raising funds to go to Paris. I hope you all brought your donation.

Kids in classroom: Yes we did, _____________.

Kids enter classroom. The one in the front is holding a box. It says PARIS FUNDS on the front. Mallory steps forward.

Mallory:
Hello kids. It’s me, Mallory. Zoe, Matt, Kate, Abby and I are raising funds for us to go on a camp to Paris. We are all very thankful to the school and everybody in it.

William Smith:
I brought two dollars, Mallory!

Teacher:
William Smith! Let them talk.

Mallory gets awkward look.

Mallory:
It’s Ok, ____________. And thank you, Will. We are very excited. It is a school thing so we will be writing reports and the like at the same time.

William Smith:
I hope you have fun!

Teacher:
William Smith! One more chance! This is a serious engagement! Leave yourself out of it!

William Smith:
But Miss. I was only…

Teacher:
William Smith! You are the most disruptive child I ever saw. I feel the need to call your father.

William Smith:
Miss…

William Smith starts to cry.

William Smith:
Miss…

Teacher:
I am very sorry. William is just a very difficult child.

With that, teacher took hold of Williams arm and drags him out of the room. A mean group of girls starts jeering and pointing through the window.

Mean Girls:
Ha ha ha!

William looks and sees them. He screams and cries.

William Smith:
Please miss. I don’t mean to. Please don’t call father. You know he’s cruel.

Teacher ignores him. Take him into office. Come back.

Teacher:
Sorry about that. You were saying…

Mallory starts.

Mallory:
Sorry. Um. Oh yes. We are raising funds for a trip to Paris. And we just came around to collect them.

Mallory goes around and collects funds. Others that are going to Paris spread out the front of the room.

Matt:
Also, could we please borrow Volkan.

Teacher:
Of course. Volkan.

Volkan gets out of chair and follows others out of the room. Mallory turns and thanks kids for the funds. Once outside:

Kate:
What is it, Matt?

Matt:
Please Volkan. Try and convince your father to let Will out of trouble. You know he’s a nice boy. He doesn’t mean to be like that.

Volkan:
Of course. I’ll try. You know he’s very difficult to persuade.

Zoe:
Oh thankyou V. I know you’ll try. Just don’t get in trouble yourself.

Matt pats Volkan on the back.

Matt:
You’d better get in there now. Thanks, V.

Volkan goes back into classroom. Paris students walk off.

End scene. Fade away.

Scene 2

Everyone gets out of the car. All stand outside on pavement.

Zoe:
We’re here. Paris.

Mallory:
I can’t believe we are here for the next month!

Abby:
Can’t you just smell the fresh air.

Zoe:
I know right. I just hope William is as lucky as us.

All look sad for a few seconds.

Kate:
Come on guys I’ve already checked in to our hotel on line and we are in room 133.

Matt:
Do I have my own room?

Mallory:
Sort of. Girls have a room and then boys have their own room. You’re the only boy so you’ve got a very small room.

Matt:
Yesss!

Everyone walk in to hotel. All look round hotel.

Mallory:
Guys I heard that there is a bonfire down at the flat.

Zoe:
Hey, once we put away our bags we can go ‘n see.

Kate:
Let’s go tell Matt!

All run into Matt’s room.

Kate:
Hey Matt! What about we go down to the local flat. Apparently, there’s going to be a bonfire.

Matt:
Yess. I’m getting rather cold anyway. A nice bonfire will warm me up. Where did you hear about this bonfire, anyway?

Mallory:
This weird guy with a moustache told me.

Zoe:
Do you know the weird guy with a moustache?

Mallory:
Nah. I imagine he was a local or something.

Kate:
If he is a local then he should know.

Matt:
Can we go now?

Mallory:
Sure!

All walk out. End scene.

Scene 3

All are walking to flat.

Zoe:
What the?

Mallory:
There’s no fire.

Kate:
Only that suspicious man.

Mallory:
He doesn’t look suspicious to me.

Abby:
Look at the way he’s looking around!

Matt:
What about we go ask him about the bonfire.

Kate:
That’s a great idea.

Zoe:
Yeah. We’d better hurry. He looks like he’s going to run away.

All walk up to suspicious man. SP sees them and backs away. Sp doesn’t say anything. Suspicious Man runs away and out of sight.

Matt:
Let’s follow him!

All run in the same direction as SP. End scene. Fade away.

Scene 4

SM hurries out of view. Group emerge from stairs.

Matt:
Oh. We lost him!

Kate:
It looks like a normal playground. Look at the box over there!

Gorgie points to big box at wall /cubbyhouse.

Zoe:
I saw where the man went! Follow me!

Zoe gesture for group to follow. All run to start of triangles. About to walk past triangles but can’t.

Zoe mutters:
What the?

Try to get past for a few more seconds. Can’t.

Mallory:
We need to get across here!

All go across triangles.

Kate:
Here now.

All go across monkey bars not touching ground. All go up chain. Run down bridge. Down slide. Walk with arms in front. Pretend to run into wall. Follow it to sandpit. All stop in front.

Abby:
I’ll go first.

Abby starts to walk across sandpit. Starts to ‘sink’. Hurries to other side. Others follow pretending to ‘sink’. All round chickens into cubby. Zoe brushes hands together vertically as if cleaning them.

Zoe:
Let’s have a look at this box.

All run to box. Abby opens it slowly. SC jumps out. All be startled and take a step back. Matt falls over. Suspicious man steps out from behind a tree laughing loudly.

SM:
It’s me! Volkan!

Abby:
Volkan? What are you doing in Paris?

Volkan:
I’m here with Mum and Will. It turns out Dad ids actually a very violent man. We had to get away quickly so I suggested Paris. I knew you were here and I wanted to give your legs a bit of a pulling.

All laughing and asking Volkan how he’s going. Fade away.

The end.
