Buddy Hutchins

Synopsis: Buddy Hutchins is just a regular guy doing his best to support a wife and two kids. A recovering alcoholic, Buddy hasn't had a drink for the better part of a year, but it turns out the only reward for his good behavior is a failing business and a cheating wife. Throw in a ruthless bounty hunter and an hot-tempered ex, and Buddy's already short fuse is about to blow. Pushed over the edge and armed with a chainsaw, Buddy Hutchins is out for blood.

Come on, Buddy!

Let the girl go!

You got nowhere to go.

Come on.

This all of it?

Yep. It didn't come.

- It smells good.

- I hope it's not burned.

- This tastes like sh*t, mom.

- Really, Joel?

Nice hair, by the way.

You like it?

- Not really.

- I like it.

Thank you.

Yeah.

That looks nice.

That looks nice.

All right. I got to go.

I'll see you guys later.

Come on.

Remember tomorrow.

I already told you.

We got band practice.

He just sat down.

You think they're doing it?

Dad!

I'm sorry.

You didn't come from a stork.

Carol called.

Yeah?

Did you send her the check?

Not yet.

Well, she's just gonna

keep calling.

I know.

Don't worry about Carol.

I'll send the check, okay?

Okay.

I will take care of her.

All right.

About Sunday, Sue and

I have this thing planned.

I'd like a little

bit more warning.

Mom would really

like to see you.

I can't cancel.

Sorry.

Great.

Well, guess what.

I guess it's just me

and you and grandma

and her famous pumpkin pie.

- Yummy.

- Come on.

You know you love that.

You can show her your Snowflake.

In fact, you want to show

me your Snowflake?

Snowflake.

Come on. Snowflake!

Come on! Just show us.

She's been really

good with her Snowflake.

Come on.

Okay, fine.

It's cute!

Come here.

Isn't that cute?

That was great.

You're gonna miss Snowflake.

This is...

46 times 9.

That's 414.

Don't try to confuse me.

Jesus.

I didn't take anything.

Then why's my drawer short?

I don't know. It's

not my problem.

You're unbelievable.

You know what?

I can't work for you

anymore, all right?

Can I just have my money?

40 bucks?

Are you serious?

You're an a**hole.

That went well.

Yeah, well, have sticky

fingers, get underpaid.

We made a cool $121 today.

Fall's always slow.

I don't want you to come

out of pocket or anything,

but I can't work for free, man.

It's gonna pick up.

Okay?

After the new year,

it will pick up.

All right.

Hey. I'm here for a pick-up.

Can I help you?

Troy?

Hey, Buddy.

This is, my brother Troy.

Troy, Ryan.

Hey.

I was actually on my way out.

Wow.

I got your message.

Which one?

That's real funny.

You know things are

crazy at the agency.

Busy's good.

Busy is good.

You look good.

You look good, Buddy.

How long has it been?

Seven months.

I'm proud of you.

Well, don't be.

Everything's gone to sh*t.

Well, this is a piece

of sh*t business.

What do you expect?

We all can't work in fashion.

I should have

never quit the band.

I know. Are you still playing?

Not really.

I'm waiting on Duncan.

Well, that'd be good.

How's Billy?

Billy's good.

Except for his name's Bobby.

How are the rugrats?

Joel's a punk.

Molly's still an angel.

What's up?

I don't know.

I didn't want to

ask you this, man.

But...

I'm broke and...

How much you need?

I didn't want to go to the

bank 'cause I have a loan

and the mortgage.

And I didn't want to...

How much do you need?

$12,000.

Don't slip.

I won't.

As soon as I can pay

you back, I will.

I know you will, but

you don't have to.

I'm serious.

I'm serious, too.

Don't you go down

that road again, Buddy.

Do you understand me?

I won't.

I haven't seen you in a while.

I'm gonna play

some pool tonight.

You want to come with me?

Nah, I got to work.

Mom's having a dinner tomorrow.

It'd be nice to see you.

Is she really, now?

You should come by, bring

your boyfriend, Bobby.

That would be

great, wouldn't it?

I bring my new boyfriend.

Boy, mom would just

love that, wouldn't she?

She would like to see you.

Buddy, do you know

how long it's been

since she and I have talked?

Just come by.

Just come.

Okay.

I'll come by tomorrow night.

Buddy, you can complain

all you want,

but there's no worse headache

than trying to teach

French to fourth graders.

Yeah, well, trust

me. One's enough.

Yeah, but Molly's such

a sweetheart, you know?

I mean, she's not like

those other shithead kids.

Yeah.

Is everything all

right with you?

No.

My cleaners is failing.

I owe that b*tch money.

I told you that was a mistake.

I know.

She's calling Eve now.

Is she calling you about money?

- Yep.

- Yeah.

So, are you guys okay?

Are you guys good?

Sometimes I think we are,

and other times I think we're

just in other countries.

Did she say anything to you?

The only thing she said to me

was that you forgot

to notice her new hair.

Really?

Great.

You want me to

help you with that?

No, no. I got it.

All right.

So, is he still with that man?

I believe so.

I don't get it.

Well, he's gay, mom.

He likes men.

Are you sure that

they're coming?

That's what he said.

He's always so busy with

whatever it is he does.

Speaking of busy, I mean,

when are you gonna stop all this

with your sewing, your cooking?

I mean, I'm worried about you.

Well, I'm fine.

You still on your medicine?

Enough with the questions.

What about you?

What's her face's excuse?

You know her name.

Trouble.

Hey! Troy's here!

Hey. How you doing?

Good to see you.

Good to see you.

- Thank you for coming.

- You remember Bobby, right?

- Hello.

- Hey, Bud.

How are you, man?

Good to see you.

- Hello.

- Hi, Bobby.

Hi, mom. How are you?

Hi.

So, mom, how's your

sewing business?

Well, if somebody

visited more...

It's just fine. Thanks

for asking, Troy.

See, what I'm doing here,

you see that I'm expressing

a little bit of concern
