Jack Garfein

Jakob Garfein (2 July 1930 – 30 December 2019) was an American film director, writer, teacher producer, and key figure of the Actors' Studio. Garfein was once married to actress Carroll Baker, with whom he had two children: actress Blanche Baker and Grammy-Award-winning American composer Herschel Garfein. Garfein's second marriage was to Anna Laretta, with whom he had two children: Rela Garfein (scholarship graduate of HEC in Paris) and Elias Garfein (scholarship graduate of Sorbonne). He lived for the last eight years of his life with Natalia Repolovsky, a pianist and technical writer, whom he married in August 2019.
