This is an API (written in PHP) providing functionality for fetching RSS/ATOM feeds and displaying them using templates in an exaggeratedly easy way. It uses SimplePie (http://simplepie.org) to fetch the feeds and the XTemplate templating engine(http://www.phpxtemplate.org) for output. Thanks to SimplePie it can autodetect and correctly interpret RSS 0.91, RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 as well as ATOM 0.3 and ATOM 1.0. The script will attempt to autodetect the most commonly used tags in RSS/ATOM fields so you will not have to worry about the fact that different feeds have different structure (read in the manual about the autodiscover property). Note that this property will try and get the most commonly used tags (title, author, link, date, etc) but if you want to go berserk and use all the tags from your favourite feed than you should reffer to the item property. Also, the global details of the feed can be accessed through the feed property. Read the manual and if you don't get it look into the example file. Or the other way around...The true power of this script is that you can have cool looking RSS/ATOM feeds on your site in a matter of minutes just by writing four lines! And that's because besides fetching the RSS/ATOM feeds for you, the script can also display them in whatever form you want by using templates. Check out templates/default folder to see the default template at work. Parse just about any XML or CSV variant (comma, tab, pipe separated values etc.) text file in PHP, ideal for parsing affiliate product feeds, exported spreadsheet data etc. The script will automatically detect the format of almost any input file, and works simply by calling your user defined callback function for each record in the feed. ssStocks (or secure, simple Stocks) is a streamlined solution to displaying the current stock information for a predefined stock ticker symbol (e.g. GOOG) on a web page using the Yahoo! Finance stock data. The script can display any combination of: the value of the stock at the time of its last trade (aka current stock price), the date (Month/Day/Year) and time of the stock quote, the opening price of the stock on the day, the change in price of quote from its open to its current price, the minimum and maximum values the stock has sold for so far today, and the volume of the stock.
