CalendarTechnique is a sleek, highly customizable, standards compliant web-based calendaring and scheduling application. Using CalendarTechnique, you can easily post, maintain, update and archive calendar and scheduling entries such as events, tasks and journal entries. Its other main features include: displaying calendar entries in customizable day, week, month, year or list layouts, extensive search and filtering capability (keyword search, field specific search, date range search), supports the event, to-do/task, journal and alarm components specified in the iCalendar specification and a theme based interface that allows the user to preview and select any of the available themes (new themes can also be added and customized to match the look of an existing website). CalendarTechnique also features mini calendars that can be displayed in four different orientations (top, bottom, left, right) as well as the ability to generate and embed a remote calendar in external web pages. With CalendarTechnique, a user can import and export entries from iCalendar files, group entries by category and assign custom colors to each category, perform conflict detection for event entries, make entries that span multiple days as well as entries that have HTML code, specify recurrence rules and by-rules for entries (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly), easily duplicate entries and create exceptions to recurring entries, send out notifications and reminders and even allow public users to submit entries to the calendar, subject to approval. CalendarTechnique also includes many convenience features such as tab based forms, a legend that makes it easy to identify different entry types, a date picker for easy selection of date values, a color picker for easy selection of colors and user as well as group directory pages. In addition to the interface being localizable to display in different languages, the calendar administrator can easily customize the publicly accessible forms as well as the header and footer pages. CalendarTechnique is written in PHP and runs against the popular MySQL and Microsoft Access databases. It can therefore be deployed in almost any server environment including hosted sites. It shows - in addition of day, weekday, month and year - the week of the year for every week's month plus the current number day of the year. The calendar in object isn't a normal US calendar because it's in ISO format. what's the difference? It differs for just one thing, the week starts on Monday, instead of Sunday, according to ISO 8601 definition. By the way, this format is very common in Europe. It's easy to install and fully customizable for your needs. By setting a series of variables like font, colors, size, etc., the calendar is suitable for every site! And now, with the version 2.0, you can select the language (among English, Italian, German, French and Spanish) as well.
